We’re excited to share the latest edition of the Alliance to Improve Midwifery Education (AIME) newsletter! In this issue, we reflect on the progress the consortium made in 2024 towards strengthening midwifery education and advancing sexual, reproductive, maternal, and newborn health (SRMNH) worldwide.

Thanks to the collective efforts of our global partners, AIME has continued to drive capacity building, knowledge sharing, resource development and research. Together, we’ve worked to ensure pre-service midwifery education equips midwives to deliver the life-saving care that can reduce maternal and perinatal mortality and morbidity.

Looking ahead to 2025, AIME is focused on strengthening midwifery education, including the launch of the Global Standards for Midwife Faculty Development and the UNFPA's and ICM's Direct Entry and Post-Nursing Sample Midwifery Curricula. Ongoing collaboration across the consortium will also contribute to the provision of innovative capacity strengthening and vital research projects.

We’re proud of our shared achievements, and we remain committed to ensuring that midwifery education continues to improve. Stay tuned for more updates and opportunities to be involved in the year ahead.

Thank you for your continued support in transforming midwifery education worldwide.

Warm regards,

The Alliance to Improve Midwifery Education (AIME)
